Saigon BBQs Oak Smoking Chips are specially made from imported Oak cut to our specifications and carefully packed to preserve the delicate flavours. Oak wood chips are a great all-rounder, providing a distinctive, mellow smoky flavour that is suitable for beef, pork, sausages, lamb, or seafood.

Usage Instructions

Gas grills

  1. Soak several handfuls of chips in cold water for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Put one or two handfuls of chips in a Saigon BBQs smoker-chip box and place the box on the grill.
  3. Wait for the chips to begin visibly smoking.
  4. Cook using either the direct or indirect grilling methods.

Smoker ovens

  1. Soak several handfuls of chips in cold water for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Start your charcoal in a Saigon BBQs Charcoal Starter Chimney and spread the embers over the charcoal rack at the bottom of the firebox.
  3. Close the lid and preheat the smoker to the desired temperature.
  4. Arrange your food on the grate in the cook chamber.
  5. Place soaked smoking wood chips or chunks (1 to 2 cups per hour depending on the size of the smoker) or small hardwood logs to the fire.
  6. Replenish the fuel and wood chips and manage the vents as needed to maintain the target temperature.
